Education and Working Experience


He graduated from University of Science & Technology of China in July 1988 with a BS degree in Solid Mechanics. He received the MS degree in Dynamics of the Earth from Peking University in July 1991, and the PhD degree in Bridge and Tunnel Engineering from Tongji University in October 2000, respectively. Since 1991, he has been a faculty member at Fuzhou University where he is currently a professor and the vice-dean of the College of Civil Engineering, and associate director of Sustainable and Innovation Bridge Engineering Research Center of Fujian Provincial Colleges and Universities (SIBERC).






Research


His current research interests include seismic design and isolation of bridge, bridge health monitoring, structural stability and vibration, seismic evaluation and retrofit of structure. In these areas, he has published 4 books, over 100 journal and conference papers. He has receipted twice first prize, triple second prize, and twice third prize of Science and Technology Award of the Government of Fujian Province, respectively.


Social Work


He served as the vice-chairman of the Professional Committee of Seismic Strengthening and Rehabilitation Technology for Engineering Structure. He also served as the executive director of the Society of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Fujian Province, as well as the executive director of the Society of Mechanics of Fujian Province. He is a committee member of the China Civil Engineering Society, as well as a committee member of the China Highway Society. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration.
